Despite sexual stigma being documented in other parts of the country, there is a glaring absence of research on the lived experience of this marginalized community. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to promote global peace and prosperity while ensuring that no one is left behind. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by marginalized groups can help work towards creating more inclusive and equitable policies and programs that address their specific needs and concerns. Creative and collaborative research approaches have the potential to ensure sexual minority agency in the process of knowledge production and knowledge translation. Furthermore, Kerala has a rich culture of theatre and a recent study in the region has demonstrated the democratic and inclusive nature of participatory forms of theatre in mental health research. This project aims to explore sexual minority identity, and mental health experiences in Kerala using interviews and participatory theatre-based methods. Such an exploration will help form a comprehensive view of mental health and well–being among sexual minorities in the State while improving inclusivity .
